Get more good stuff.
You know how it sometimes takes time for an idea to click? Well, I want to share with you something that just clicked for me and it might be able to help you.
Last year, I listened to a speech by Julie Gilbert Newrai, a former Best Buy exec that started an award-winning tech company, PreciousStatus. She shared tips on what helped her to be successful.
One of the best strategies for her was to have her own personal board of directors. This is not the same as the company’s board of directors, but a select group of people that can help you to be more successful.
Sometimes we try to do it all, but why not rely on knowledge from the experts?
Your board is made up of the people you consult before making a major decision. A “dream team” to help you reach your goals.
Julie’s board included a financial guru, a marketing specialist, a tech-savvy friend, and a motivating coach.
I recently made some new connections that inspired me to more thoughtfully consider my board of directors. Here’s who I have on my board:
- My husband is a supportive truth-teller with financial know-how.
- A good friend of mine, who is a business owner, keeps me motivated, focused, and is great at marketing and using new tools.
- This week I met a fellow podcaster, who offered to provide strategic support with my podcast.
As I grow and change, my board will likely change, too.
In whatever you’re doing, who can help you to reach your goals? Who makes up your board of directors?
