Get more good stuff.
Make a greater impact…
Giving is fun because even a small donation can make a huge difference. I know sometimes people struggle with who to donate to, so I thought I would share some of my gift list.
The Changemakers from the pilot episodes of the podcast shared their stories, struggles, and passion for what they do to make the world better. This year, I’m supporting their causes and here’s how you can help, too!
A Gift of Song…
For under $10, you can buy the entire Rhythm of the Maasai album and support the Maasai people of Africa. This music is rich, beautiful, authentic and like nothing I’ve ever heard before.
Listen to Episode 2 – How to Help, where Hans Johnson tells us about collecting this music and his journey with helping the people he met.
–> Purchase the album here and support the Maasai who shared this music with things like school supplies, food, and clean water.
Create a Job…
Nearly 10 million youth in Kenya between the ages of 18-35 are unemployed. In Episode 2 – How to Help, we learned from Tania Laden, co-founder of Livelyhoods, that youth looking for work didn’t want to start a business, they wanted a job – and one they can be proud of. Pictured here is Alex, who used to collect garbage for a living, but now is part of the Livelyhoods team.
Livelyhoods employees can earn a steady income and feel good about selling products like clean burning cook stoves and solar lights to improve the lives of people in their community.

Provide a Path to Graduation…
Kids that graduate from high school are more likely to get a job, earn more pay, and are less involved in crime. In Episode 3 – Prepare to Scale, Marquis Taylor shared his story with co-founding Coaching for Change. He combines academics with basketball to help kids to become leaders, graduate from high school, and realize their potential for college and careers.
With a 97% graduation rate, that’s 10 – 40% higher than area schools, Coaching for Change is making an impact.

Give a Shout Out!
When you like someone on Facebook or send out a Tweet, you become part of a network of change. By spreading the word, you are helping Changemakers to get more exposure and support – and who knows, maybe an investor, journalist, or someone that can help will come across one of your posts!
Pivot
In Episode 1 – Pivot, Ashley Muspratt tells us how she founded her startup, also called Pivot. Ashley and her team take fecal sludge (think whatever goes into a toilet) and sell it as fuel. They totally flipped the idea of sanitation – and turned waste into a valuable raw material.

ByoEarth
Also in Episode 1 – Pivot, Maria Rodriguez shared how she turned ByoEarth into a sustainable venture. What started with worms and fertilizer has turned into a business that employs women and combats food insecurity in Guatemala.

Te Whare Hukahuka
In Episode 3 – Prepare to Scale, Shay Wright told a personal story about the differences he’s seen between his European cousins and Maori cousins. To fight economic and social disparities for Maori people, Shay co-founded Te Whare Hukahuka. This venture provides training and support to strengthen Maori and indigenous enterprises.
